BELOW ARE THE FEW STEPS TO CLOSE MCAFEE ACCOUNT:
Right-click on the McAfee icon in the bottom-right corner of the Windows system tray. In Windows 7, you may need to click the “Show hidden icons” arrow to see the McAfee icon.
Point to “Change Settings.” Click “Real-Time Scanning.”
Click “Turn Off.” McAfee asks you when you want to resume real-time scanning. Select a time or choose “Never” if you don’t want to resume scanning. Click “Turn Off” again.
Right-click the McAfee icon again. Click “Change Settings” and “Firewall.”
Click “Turn Off.” Choose a time to turn the firewall back on, if desired. Click the “Turn Off” button to disable the firewall.
Shut Down McAfee
Click the Windows “Start” button. Type “services.msc” in the search box. Press “Enter.”
Scroll down and right-click “McAfee Framework.” Click “Stop.”
Right-click all services related to McAfee and then click “Properties.” Click “Disabled,” “Stop” and “OK.” McAfee services include Network Associates Task Manager, Network Associates McShield, SNMP Trap Service and SNMP Service. Close the Services window when finished.
Some McAfee programs may prevent you from disabling services. To turn off this protection, open the McAfee VirusScan Console and right-click “Access Protection.” Click “Properties” and uncheck “Prevent McAfee services from being stoppped.”
1. Consider leaving it enabled. Although programs will often tell you to disable your antivirus during installation, this is virtually never required. The installation should proceed without any problem. Disabling the antivirus during installation leaves you very susceptible to malware contained within the installer.
2. Double-click the McAfee icon in the System Tray. This is located in the lower-right corner of the desktop. The icon looks like an “M” in a red shield. If you don’t see the icon, click the arrow button at the edge of the System Tray to expand the Tray and display all the icons.
3. Click “Real-Time Scanning”. This button is located at the top of the window, underneath the green banner. By default, it will say “On”.
4.Disable Real-Time Scanning. When you click the button, you will be given the option to disable the real-time scanning, and allow you to set how long you want it disabled. You should never go too long without active protection, so make sure that it is scheduled to turn back on as soon as you are done with your task.
5. Turn off the Firewall. If you need to disable McAfee’s Firewall, you can do so in a similar way. Click the “Firewall” button on the McAfee control panel, located beneath the “Real-Time Scanning” button. You can schedule how long the Firewall is disabled for. Just like real-time scanning, this should not be disabled any longer than it has to.
If you have a program that needs to bypass the Firewall, consider opening ports instead of disabling the entire firewall.
